supposedly i’m part Micmac Indian (ahem, i mean Native American), but at one point my mom said maybe Algonquin, so i’m not sure, but i like the name Micmac. i recently went online shopping, because i had an itch i had to scratch… and i got these shoes and dress from Topshop. then in a fit of DIY mania, i performed surgery on a scrap of vintage leather (from a pile at the flea market that a guy sold to me for $3) and made this Micmac/punk inspired headband-wristband-belt-fantastico-thingy.

DIY “studded antique leather versatile thingy” (working title)

- scissors
-scrap leather
-studs (studs and spikes)
-piercer thing (studs and spikes)
-flat head screwdriver

cut out a 60″ ish long piece of leather (i cut around in a circle along the perimiter of my leather piece because it wasn’t big enough to cut straight and that’s how i got the weird irregular corner pieces). then poke holes(with piercer) for your studs in random places and flatten down the studs with the screwdriver. i used the scissor to cut fringe spots in random places along the length and at the ends. then wear as a headband, belt, wristband, whatever!

outfit: Topshop shoes and dress, random old leg warmers, vintage ring, diy headband, Mr. Kate screw you necklace.
