hollywoodland you made it

today’s beautiful sunny day adventure was a hike up the Hollywood trail, which takes you by the famous Hollywood (formerly Hollywoodland) sign, some horses, lotsa horse poop, a cock, and a great city view. the hike crew was me, Joey and Rachel. after our refreshing glute-burning hike, we went to Umami Burger (umami means the fifth taste) and managed to eat vegan! we got the Earth Burger (soybeans and mushrooms), no cheese or butter on the bun, with sweet potato fries on the side done “Steve style,” which means fried in vegetable oil instead of lard…ewww! everything was amazing, even their ketchup, it has truffle oil!

to get to the Hollywood trail: drive up to the top of Beachwood Canyon north of Franklin in Hollywood and park where it dead-ends near the Sunset Ranch. there is one trail that goes up a ways and then splits in two, if you go to the right is takes you by the Griffith Observatory, if you go left you can get up close and personal with the Hollywood sign. have fun!
