diy: toes fo sho
i’ve been admiring these Comme des Garcons shoes for a while thinking that they would be a great for a DIY! …but i had to find the perfect shoes/boots to show of the toe paint. i looked at my local flea market for a couple weeks in a row (because i prefer thrift/vintage things when possible) but only found one pair that were eh, and they wanted $45 for them! riiiiip off. so… i found these pleather, hunter green goodies on urbanoutfitters.com on sale for $29.99 (they used to be $78!)
materials: shoes, acetone, white acrylic paint, small paintbrush and about 15 to 20 minutes of time (depending on your painting abilities)
process: i had to trim the fringe part down with a pair of manicure scissors to expose more of the toe area. then i prepped the painting area with a quick swipe of acetone (nail polish remover) to make the fake leather more porous for the paint . then i free-hand painted the toes on, using basic white acrylic paint …and voila!
