in an effort to stay ahead of the curve (well, stay with the curve), I decided this was a necessary post today!

sunday afternoon I cuddled up on my couch with a batch of my favorite vegan popcorn to watch the red carpet coverage of the 2010 Emmy awards show, because let’s be honest, the most exciting thing about award shows is seeing what everyone is wearing!  there’s always that one dress that makes an appearance and ruffles everyone’s tail feathers and this year it happened to be January Jones’ blue Versace Atelier gown.  It’s probably obvious at this point that I am not afraid of taking fashion risks even if some may dub them as faux-pas, so for this and many other reasons I have to say I LOVE her dress.

the vivid color inspired me to add  some electric blue into my life.  here are some pics that I found through my blue tinted glasses:

you can find inspiration everywhere, even in a color!  and you don’t just have to apply it to what you wear…I say take that inspiration and run with it…with your makeup, your walls, your clothes, your home, your shoes…everything and anything!

color is often what sparks my interior design jumping off point or my daily outfit. I will wake up in the morning and just be in the mood to wear pink, so I know that’s where to start when picking out my clothes… or it may just mean wearing a stripe of pink eye shadow. similarly when designing a room, you may know that you want to be surrounded by a certain color, so figure out how you want to use it (walls, fabrics, art) and work the overall scheme around that color.
