found art: watts los angeles
Watts is located in South Los Angeles, bordering Compton and Lynwood. in an area that has been marked by racial injustice and violence, Watts also has an interesting history involving art. Watts resident Simon Rodia constructed the Watts Towers from 1921 to 1954, using materials that he found around the city.
Rodia collected seashells, discarded ceramic tiles, broken bottles, porcelain and scrap metal to create the towers.

the idea of using found objects to create art is inspiring for so many different mediums, including fashion, interior design and even making music.
