venice garden tour

over the weekend, i went on the annual venice home & garden tour. every year community members open up their homes to people who purchase tickets – 100% of the proceeds go to NYA’s Las Doradas Children’s Center, a child care facility that provides full-time, education-based child care to low-income working families.

the day started out gray and cloudy but as we walked around and saw some amazing houses, the sun broke through.

the tour is self-guided – they give you a map and you can walk all around the neighborhood at your own pace and enter as many or as few homes as you please.

some interesting venice beach yard art… this house unfortunately was not part of the 30 selected houses to be in the tour.

some of the houses were amazing and some were just so-so.  it was interesting to see the eclectic mix of architects, landscape designers, artists, and builders who all had different and distinct styles.

Hey lady – I came across your blog from one of your hair tutorials on youtube this weekend and uh, can you say obsessed? Love. It. Just wanted to say it rocks (in the most non-stalkery way possible), and I am spending waaaayyy too much time going back through your old posts. I love it like a fat kid loves tuna noodle casserole. Hey – not EVERY fat kid loves cake.

    Merci!
