all images via Meg Duerksen

how amazing is this!? found this DIY and photos on Whatever by Meg Duerksen. i have to make one of these! so easy!

all you need is:

  • a white canvas
  • hot glue
  • blow dryer
  • a couple boxes of wax crayons

do it:

  1. pick your colors and glue the crayons to the top of the canvas – tips facing down
  2. heat up the crayons to their melting point with a blow dryer set hot and high
  3. watch the art come alive

used oil pastels and it didnt work ):

I think because oil has a higher melting point than wax.  Someone correct me if I am wrong!?

i think you’re right! oil pastels are denser than regular crayons so you won’t get that wax drip effect.

    • oil pastels didnt work

oh me too. I didn’t know they are different, now I have to try crayon
