i know i’ve been teasing this cowboy boot DIY idea for too long now! and i was reminded again about it at the Free People event which now carries Luxury Jones boots – the original inspiration for the idea and my boots in these pics are made by Luxury Jones. but yay, i think i’m ready for my own DIY! i’ve accumulated all my supplies and it’s on my schedule to shoot and edit the DIY for a variation of these fantastic boots!!!

i just wanted to do a post and remind you all to keep an eye out for some thrifted/vintage cowboy boots of your own so you can make a pair too! if you’re out and about this weekend and happen upon a sweet pair of cowboy boots in your size, get ‘em! also get some woven, metal-embellished and/or beaded belts and scraps of fabric…. and get excited! i am!

how darling! what i love about this is the folded down boot makes feet look tiny. when you make them, do you have to cut into the boots shaft to fold it down?

you don’t have to cut into the hard part of the heel casing, just cut down the back of the top part of the boot enough to fold it over. thanks!
