DIYable: cord as art

this is so great! a super long cord on a lamp, nailed to the wall in a mantlepiece design adds architectural interest, art and humor! how about that collapsed bookshelf in the corner too? what a funky space!

this could be DIYable if you took a favorite lamp to a lamp shop and had them affix an extra long cord. then you would need to draw your shape on the wall in pencil or use a stencil and attach the cord (following the design) to the wall using cable tacks.

an easier interpretation of this cord art: could be to use a long piece of thin rope from the hardware store and some basic nails to tack it to the wall in whichever design you’d like. you could place a lamp near by the end to “fake” that it’s the cord!
