flea market finds: home and style

you probably already know that we love flea markets  – and this past weekend the Mr. Kate team split up to browse and get inspiration…annnnd maybe buy a giant birdcage! Kathryn visited the Melrose Trading Post and Joey and i went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. flea markets sell old, new and spruced up old – like these vintage tin ceiling tiles that the vendor mounted on wood and painted fun colors!

shoulder studs! go stud-crazy and DIY your own or make the DIY Studded Shorts or Spike Headband

oops! fun purchase! Joey and i picked up this giant vintage birdcage to do something fun with…but poor Joey had to carry the iron thing – it’s heavy!

a starfish to go with a Mr. Kate Seahorse necklace, bangle, or ring!

look at this pretty chair! it looks very French chateau – this piece upholstered in a different fabric would make a great addition to any couch, chair, coffee table set-up.

they’re everywhere! DIY boho belted boots anyone?

or how about some DIY hand painted purses?

this coffee mug goes perfect with a DIY succulent coffee pot

vintage ceiling tiles made into mirror surrounds – love the peeling paint and intricate designs.

that’s it for this edition of our flea market inspiration round-up… check out more flea market finds posts here!

now off to tend to my birdcage!

wow! I need to go to more flea markets! quality ones, though; sadly my move to Providence has voided my life of many of life’s quality things.
