About Mr. Kate’s Designs
Kate is a jewelry designer, actress, blogger, artist and decorator, living in Los Angeles. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley and went to college at Loyola Marymount University where she majored in Film Production and minored in Theatre. Kate studied jewelry as an elective with metalsmith and contemporary art jeweler, Sue Dorman, where she learned how to do fabrication, lost wax carving and waxwork for casting and stone setting. She fell in love with the intricate art of jewelry making and design and started her own jewelry line called Mr. Kate. Kate focuses on making art jewelry pieces that are accessible, funky and unexpected. All of the jewelry featured on mrkate.com is designed and made by Kate. From the large scale pieces, down to the smallest beads, all are original Mr. Kate designs, made from wax and then cast and molded for reproduction.
Mr. Kate jewelry has been featured in various publications including Teen Vogue and LA Confidential and is also a favorite of celebrities and fashion bloggers including Vanessa Hudgens, Reese Witherspoon, Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast and Knight Cat. Why Mr. Kate?
People often ask why my company is called Mr. Kate. I wanted a name that was reflective of me, my designs and my sense of humor. My name is Kate, and yes, I am a girl. My logo is a mustache and beauty mark which to me are two iconic images that represent humor (Groucho Marx etc.) and beauty (Marilyn Monroe etc.) which I hope is how my designs are viewed; as beautiful, with a sense of humor. I also am intrigued with the notion of gender and questioning or blurring gender lines. Thus, many of my pieces are made from characteristically hard or masculine items, such as nuts and bolts, but made feminine and delicate by incorporating them as jewelry pieces. I also enjoy using other everyday objects like cereal, bows and twigs in my designs.
I hope that my jewelry is viewed as everyday, wearable art with a sense of humor that makes my customers feel unique and happy.

Shipping Rates, Terms and Conditions:
Shipping Policy and Information:
Most pieces are made-to-order. For all domestic destinations, please allow 2 to 4 weeks from the shipment date for the merchandise to arrive at your delivery address. For any International destinations outside the continental US, please allow 3 to 6 weeks from the shipment date for the merchandise to arrive at your delivery address.
Please double check your shipping and billing address. Mr. Kate is not responsible for any orders shipped to the wrong or invalid address when based off of the information that the customer provides when placing their online order.

Shipping price and weight calculations are based on a standard pre-calculated weight. For orders exceeding that standard weight some extra charges may apply. The price listed for domestic shipping and handling (S & H) is for 2-4 weeks Standard Ground Shipping only within the Continental United States (extra charges will apply for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii or Forign destinations). For orders over $300 U.S. Postal Service delivery confirmation and insurance can be applied to the S & H fee.
Orders within the USA:
Mr. Kate is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. Once shipped, we can not replace the lost items but we can offer you a coupon code to re-purchase the items that you did not receive at a discounted price.
International (outside the USA) Shipping Rates and Terms:
For any orders shipped outside the US there is a flat rate shipping fee applied to all orders. Mr. Kate is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. If an international order fails to arrive within 6 weeks of the shipment date please contact Mr. Kate at
[email protected] We can not replace the lost items but we can offer you a coupon code to re-purchase the items that you did not receive at a discounted price.
Mr. Kate (the shipper) will not incur any of the additional tariffs, customs fees or taxes which may apply to any international orders. These fees are the sole responsibility of the international recipient of the package.
Returns and Exchanges Policy:
If for any reason you decide not to keep the jewelry you have ordered, you may return it within 30 days of shipment of purchase for a refund. Please notify us through email at
[email protected] if you wish to return or exchange an item and we will reply with detailed instructions on how to do so.
Merchandise must be unworn and undamaged. Mr. Kate is not responsible for damaged pieces that are damaged after receipt of purchase. Refunds will be issued in the same manner the original purchase was made (through PayPal). We will refund the purchase price. Shipping and handling is not refundable.
Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges on Special Orders, Sale or Discounted items.

Please include your name, address, email address, day and evening phone number along with the merchandise. If making an exchange, please note on the original packing slip, what you would like to exchange the merchandise for. We will invoice/refund you through PayPal if there is any change in the price of the exchanged item(s).
We will notify you via email when we have processed your return.
Mr. Kate cannot accept returns for merchandise purchased at any outside boutique locations or other online retailers. Please return that merchandise to the store from which it was purchased and note their specific returns and exchange policies.
