Kate Albrecht is the designer, stylist, interior decorator, cook, blogger, host, DIYer, crafter, frugalista, environmental enthusiast, and opinionated personality behind this quirky and cutting edge brand. as a jane-of-all-trades, with a knack for anything creative, she is the Martha Stewart for her generation (generation Y and Z with some X and Boomers thrown in too!). through a blog, web videos and popular Mr. Kate jewelry line the Mr. Kate brand is an authority on stylish and affordable living for all young consumers.

Kate’s Jewelry Designs: as a trained metal smith, Kate prides herself on using her own hands to design and make all of the original waxes for each of the Mr. Kate jewelry pieces. Kate focuses on making art jewelry pieces that are accessible, funky and unexpected. from the large scale pieces, down to the smallest beads, all are original Mr. Kate designs, made from wax and then cast and molded for reproduction.

Kate grew up in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley and attended college at Loyola Marymount University where she majored in film production and minored in theater. Kate studied jewelry making under contemporary art jeweler Sue Dorman.

Joey Zehr is the COFO of Mr. Kate – what’s a COFO? well it’s a very special title for a very important person. Joey is the president, brand and business manager and web guru for Mr. Kate. he is also a skilled photographer, videographer and cat groomer. Mr. Kate can’t function without him.

Brad Etter – Video Wizard

As Mr. Kate’s official videographer, Brad Etter or as we sometimes call him, BowRad, understands that creative brilliance, irreverent humor, and high definition closeups (which turns him on a little too much) are the key ingredients to a trademark Mr. Kate video. Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, he is a Midwest boy braving the West Coast as a videographer and filmmaker. This also means he isn’t flaky and has an affinity for deep dish pizza. He is so visually oriented that he would probably rather spend the evening with his camera than with friends. Fortunately, his job allows him to hang out with the Mr. Kate team and his camera simultaneously… does it get better than that?

To-Ning Wu – Interiors Genie

To-Ning (Tony) Wu, was born and raised in Taiwan, and moved to MA, USA when he was 15 to attend high school. He went to college in Rochester, NY, then moved to LA after he graduated. Tony majored in Studio Art, and his first interior project was an installation of his own gallery show. Tony has worked on projects such as the CES trade show and numerous residential interior designs. He works with Mr. Kate as her interior design assistant and especially helps her with scaled drawings because she sucks at math.

Tony might seem shy and quiet when people first meet him but he’s totally hilarious, loves to smile and makes Mr. Kate pee her pants laughing. Tony enjoys working with clients in every aspect of the interior design process because he appreciates beautifully designed furniture, architecture, and environments. His design style is influenced by contemporary minimalism, Asian and modern aesthetics which is a good balance with Mr. Kate’s bohemian vintage flair.

Kathryn Wahl – Blog Fairy

Kathryn is the assistant blog editor fairy at Mr. Kate sprinkling photography, writing, and idea dust wherever needed. She grew her wings on the east coast and now lives with her fluffy moon child “Luna” in Los Angeles. Acting, books, Laurel Canyon, and drinking yummy coffee are a few of her favorite things. Emma Stuart – Content Creatress

This LA native went to the same Waldorf high school that Mr. Kate went to and together they share the bond of a kooky and creative education. Emma went to college in Oregon and now is home in LA, pursuing her music (she has a crazy beautiful voice). She’s happy to be getting her crafting/fashion outlet through Mr. Kate where she does original content posts on both style and home DIYs. When Emma is not busy singing (which is usually 24/7…even when she’s blogging), you can catch her expertly quoting any Will Ferrell movie, or practicing some Beyonce dance moves.
